Killzone 3 Beta Access

Here is the gist, on October 13th, PSN+ users will be able to download a special KZ3 XMB Theme. The first 10,000 that do, gain access to the Killzone 3 multiplayer beta. Fingers crossed some (all) of us make it in!

got mine too.. cross fingers time..

I was entering and exiting the store for about 3mins starting at 19.58.

At 8.01 it popped up and i downloaded it. i MUST be in!

good, that should be AT LEAST 3 of us!

i downloaded it soon as i got in last night around 9pm i have a faint hope i got in as there was only 3k rating for it crossing my fingers tightly

I did have a quick go last night with bots and the controls are a lot better will need to get used to them

I had a play last night with bots and online.. looks good if a bit brown/gray at times... i don't like using R3 for sights though.. :/

in KZ2 i changed controls to "COD style", Alternative 2 i think it was.

Didn't know there was a COD style might have to change it to that, crouch is annoying as you have to hold it down >.<

Yup, in KZ3 beta, the Alternative control set up is L1 to aim, and im positive i had toggle crouch.

BIG plus for the Beta... CLANS. Suffice to say The DPD Army has been created and invites will be going out to everyone on this thread.

everyone got two emails, the second one had a lot more info. including the KZ3 events on a tuesday and thursday.

Played it against bots last night. It's still good - but it's so COD it's already feeling stale. Halo: reach, despite just being Halo felt like a breath of fresh air among all these COD wannabe's.

Disagree totally, i think Halo is the worst franchise ever, it hasnt changed in years lol. Killzone 3 is nothing like COD, i think this one is wicked, having played the beta myself

Yes, Halo hasn't changed in years - and that's why it's still unique, unlike Killzone which is losing it's identity to very COD sensibilities. Killzone 3 is very COD - the low health, the killstreak and bonus notifications, the quick iron-sights and aim assists - all cod. Same things that you can see in games like MOH and Crysis 2 as well.
BTW, Halo, worst franchise ever? really? Seems pretty good to quite a number of people.

Halo isn't bad but its just very dull and microsoft have milked it for every thing they can.

But I do agree with your there with KZ3's similarities with COD, every one just seems to be jumping on that band wagon lately it is disappointing.
