hard to believe that series began as a 1 on 1 Beat em up. i guess the universe they created was much better than the GAME they created!

Well in the east it's actually a different game - which is why in Japan it's called Shin Sangoku Musou 6 and here it's called Dynasty Warriors 7. That first one on PSOne isn't really part of the series any more than Romance of the Three Kingdoms or Kessen 2 is.
As a Dynasty Warriors fan, I'm hoping this is going to be a proper sequel. DW6 was disappointing as hell - DW7 is looking good and focusing on PS3 means they can actually go nuts and not limit themselves.

On a related note Samurai Warriors 3 is getting ported from the Wii. As long it still has Gackt - I'm a happy bunny
